This is my picture poem and it is in free verse form. The speaker is a person looking at a mountain view. The message in this poem is only to describe the view from a mountain. To do this I used a lot of visual imagery.
Mountains
The beauty of nature is ubiquitous.
Miles stretch upon miles,
Suddenly huge features like trees
Become dots- barely visible.
The forest green of pine trees
Contrast sharply against the pure white snow
But the mountain makes itself heard by
Shoving cliffs through the snow. Two mountains,
Eloquently linked through a valley.
Clouds of cotton glide through the valley and around the peaks.
Rays of sun burst through the clouds
In patches of gold leaving shadows on the floor.
Mountains really were created for the view.
The beauty of nature is ubiquitous.
Miles stretch upon miles,
Suddenly huge features like trees
Become dots- barely visible.
The forest green of pine trees
Contrast sharply against the pure white snow
But the mountain makes itself heard by
Shoving cliffs through the snow. Two mountains,
Eloquently linked through a valley.
Clouds of cotton glide through the valley and around the peaks.
Rays of sun burst through the clouds
In patches of gold leaving shadows on the floor.
Mountains really were created for the view.
