This is my imagery poem and it is a free verse poem. The speaker in this poem is a person who is remembering his senior year of high school. This poem is showing how you will eventually realize what school is all about and you will appreciate it more. I expressed this by using imagery to explain how the school seems enjoyable and almost magical during senior year.
School for Life
As the leaves began to turn Crimson was the color of fall. My summer joys began to burn, Because the school year was upon us all. As a senior I began to appreciate All the little things I used to hate. The school used to seem dark as night But now appeared energetic and bright. Every tile began to shimmer, Every whiteboard began to glimmer. The school smelled like freshly cut grass, And I began to enjoy each minute of every class. |
It was not long before the year was through,
It seemed as though my life had flew. I realize now that school doesn’t leave you, There are memories that will remain forever. There are bonds that will not sever. School is more than just reading another book, it is a time to discover How your future will look. |
