"Millions Alike" is my list poem and it is written in free verse. The speaker in this poem is a neutral everyday person. This poem is showing that we appear to be individuals on the inside, but we are actually the same. I did this by creating lists of how we appear different, but are the same inside.
Millions Alike
I am like you, And you are like me. We are all individuals on the outside. We have different jobs, We have different houses, We have different friends, We have different names. Yet on the inside we are all the same. |
Full of joy - exciting and contagious.
Full of pain - sharp and outrageous. Full of hope - powerful and pure. Full of fear - shrouded in the obscure. Full of love - warm and beautiful. Full of despair - heavy and brutal. Full of life - colorful and bright. Full of death - dark and tight. We are different in looks, But we are equal inside. I think we can all agree That I am like you, And you are like me. |
